Guitar player and composer Douglas Macgregor releases ‘The Stillness Dancing’ – his fourth release and second full-length album.

Consisting of six nylon-strung guitar pieces woven together with extended interludes featuring cello, clarinet and electronics, the long-player follows his self-released album ‘Douglas MacGregor Trio’ in 2014 as well as two EPs from 2013, ‘A Testament to Subsided Days’ and ‘Some Roads Lead Within’ EP.

Featuring cellist Peter Nicholson (One Ensemble, Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra), Alex South on clarinet (also of One Ensemble, Scottish Clarinet Quartet) and electronic sound artists Charlie Knox, Gavin Thomson and Adam Campbell, the album was recorded and mastered by Geoff Allan.

Formerly of Punch and the Apostles, Macgregor has developed his musical style with trips to Asia and Africa as well as five years spent in Berlin.

Now back in Glasgow, he occasionally drums for Honey and the Herbs.
