Docken Leaf release a single, ‘Orienteering’, via the Barne Society label.
The track is the latest in a series from the music project conceived by Brian Docherty (Scientific Support Dept, The Wayne Devro Set) and Ken McCluskey (The Bluebells, McCluskey Brothers). Sporadic releases over the years have included a single from 2013, ‘Sunday Hurl‘.
The track includes additional musical contributions from friends John McCusker, Lavinia Blackwell (Trembling Bells), and Marco Rea (The Wellgreen, Stilton), and was recorded at Docherty’s home studio, with further recording and mixing by Roddy Mcilwraith at The Barne Studios, Duntocher.
The video was shot and directed by photographer Brian Sweeney, and Fabio Rebelo Paiva and premiered on the Into Creative website, which teams up musicians and filmmakers to produce visual interpretations of original recordings.
All donations received during the first month of digital downloads go to Tiny Changes, the charity set up by the family of the late Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit.
The audio file is also available as part of Into Creative’s Collaborations Project supporting Tiny Changes, on a pay-what-you-want basis.
