Deer Leader release their debut long-player ‘We’ve Met Before, Haven’t We’ via the on Last Night From Glasgow’s Hive imprint.

Available on limited edition double eco vinyl as well as download, the album’s eight tracks include two previous singles for the label, ‘Four Deuces‘ and ‘Crocodile‘, the latter of which also appeared on a split single with Out Of The Swim.

The trio – Stuart McQuarrie, Ross Prentice and Robin Pringle – were initially an instrumental outfit before working with producer Andy Miller (Mogwai, Arab Strap, Life Without Buildings), who also engineered the majority of the tracks at Gargleblast Studios, following some initial work done at Green Door with Sam Smith.

Written and recorded over the space of four years, the album is, the band say, about “coming to terms with being an individual in an age of rampant individualism and the way that we all get lost in the constant battle between our internal and external lives.”

The album’s title comes from a line in David Lynch’s ‘Lost Highway’ while the band also cite Angelo Badalamenti as an influence as well as the likes of The Walkmen and Massive Attack.
