CS Buchan releases a new album, ‘Where Have All My Friends Gone? Volumes 1 & 2’, on his own Aberdeen-based independent music label Fitlike Records.

Previous album ‘CS Buchan & Friends‘ featured a variety of guest vocal contributors including Iona Fyfe, The Little Kicks’ Steven Milne, Viking Moses, and Tryptamines’ Chemical Callum.

The 22 tracks are available via Bandcamp, with Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 available digitally as well as on 12″ vinyl.

That long-player received national radio airplay on the BBC Radio 6 Music Cerys Matthews Show, Album of the Week on the BBC Radio Scotland Roddy Hart Show as well as featuring on Laura Barton’s BBC Radio 4 series, Notes from a Musical Island.

The new album focuses less on collaborations, but does feature string arrangements by Pete Harvey (King Creosote/ Modern Studies/Lomond Campbell) alongside the horn section Mark Ronson called ‘the best in the world’, The Haggis Horns, and Buchan also calls on several young Nashville country players, including Daniel Donato on ‘Going Down Together.’

Buchan is also one half of Best Girl Athlete with daughter Katie, whose self-titled long-player made the 2018 Scottish Album of the Year shortlist, the two co-writing a track ‘Tearing Pages’ on the latest release.
