If anyone has even read one of our 8pm Monday missives and torn out of the door to catch the first song of the band in question, then our work here is done.
Tonight, the band to catch is Chvrches – assuming you’re within a sprint of Aberdeen Music Hall.

Fortunately, there’s plenty of time to plan your journey to Perth tomorrow (Tuesday) where Idlewild are at the Concert Hall. Or for anyone who missed them on Monday, a wee trip down the coast to Fat Sams for Chvrches‘ Dundee show.

Wednesday is a kind of quiet night. well, unless you’re at the O2 Academy in Glasgow, where – well, if Slayer cause your ears to fill with blood then, mission accomplished on their part.

Things pick up towards the weekend.
Idlewild continue their Scottish tour with a show at Aberdeen Music Hall.
Bearded bluesman Dave Arcari is in Edinburgh, at the Voodoo Rooms, while Motherwell gets in on the rock with The Proclaimers at the town’s Concert Hall
Meanwhile in Glasgow, it’s the return of Reverieme at the 13th Note

Friday sees The Proclaimers at Glenrothes’ Rothes Halls, while folkie Rab Noakes is enjoying a new lease of life, with a set at Hospitalfield in Arbroath.
What seems like an improbably inimate show from The Orb takes place at Edinburgh’s Electric Circus, while by way of contrast, Lovely Eggs are at the Citrus Club with The Spook School in support,.
In Glasgow, Idlewild hit the Barras, E>arl Sixteen – formerly out of Dreadzone – is at the Rum Shack, and indie kings Built to Spill have a show at the Art School.
Book Yer Ane Fest is at Buskers in Dundee until Sunday, with Spook School, Kimberley Steaks, Womps, Paper Rifles and PMX among well over 30 acts playing.

On Saturday, The Proclaimers are at the AECC in Aberdeen, while psych-folk is the order of the day for Trembling Bells at Tunnels.
It’s psych-acid (a genre we just made up) with Egibamyasi at the Greenside in Leslie, while Dave Arcari heads for Dundee, at Bank St Gallery to be precise.
In Edinburgh, it’s Errors‘ turn to play La Belle Angele, while in Glasgow, Randolph’s Leap are at the Hug and Pint

And a couple of oldies but goodies on Sunday. Billy Bragg is at Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree, while former Wonderstuffie Miles Hunt visits La Belle Angele
