Carla J. Easton releases a single, ‘Lights In The Dark’. The singer-songwriter of Glasgow pop combo TeenCanteen has a solo album due for release later in 2018 with this being the first cut to come from it..
Both single and the album were recorded in autumn, or indeed Fall 2017, as the sessions tok place at the Hotel2Tango recording studio in Montreal. The band of Canadian musicians were produced by Howard Bilerman, who has previously worked with Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen and British Sea Power.
Previously having worked with Joe Kane on her ‘Ette’ project, Easton wrote the album while on a singer-songwriter residency at The Banff Centre last spring, where she was mentored by Grammy award winning and nominated songwriters Don Henry and Kim Richey.
Before the album surfaces, another Easton-penned tune is due for release – she has co-written and sings on ‘Best Friend’, from the third instalment of Belle & Sebastian’s EP series ‘How to Solve Our Human Problems’ – out on 16 February 16th on Matador.
