Calacas have released a free download tying in with a rare gig which takes place in Glasgow next week.

‘Local Rivals’ was recorded at Chime Studios, and is described by the band as ” a paean for Glasgow in the summertime, when the sun comes out and everything is allright”

The band are something of a Scottish supergroup – fronted by Top 40-scraping indie royalty in the form of former Urusei Yatsura guitarist Graham Kemp, they also number Q without U’s Calum McKay, Ian Moy from Rags and Feathers, and Neil Raeside out of Wojtek the Bear.

The new tune follows up ‘Ten Tiger Trax’, which rather seems to have snuck out around a year ago and is still available on Bandcamp.

The band play at Glasgow’s 13th Note on Saturday June 17th, with a support slot by Jan Burnett of Spare Snare fame.
