A vintage Bert Jansch album, ‘Crimson Moon’, gets a re-release for its 20th anniversary.
On the Earth label, it’s the first standalone release on vinyl for the record, which features Johnny Marr, Bernard Butler and Johnny ‘Guitar’ Hodge on guitar along with guest vocals from Jansch’s wife Loren Auerbach.
One of Bert Jansch’s later recordings, the 2000 release opens with the title track – a take on traditional song ‘Omie Wise’ and was written about his wife Loren.
Also on the release are an original in ‘Caledonia’, plus a covers The Incredible String Band’s ‘October Song’, Guy Mitchell’s ‘Singing The Blues’ and Owen Hand’s ‘My Donald’ (which features Loren).
