Astrid have announced a new single, ‘Poison Reaction’.

And the Isle of Lewis-born act have a brand new album on the way after a 14 year hiatus.

In their heyday, the band, who formed while in Glasgow in the mid-1990s, released nine singles, three albums and three EPs before disbanding in 2004.

Songwriters Willie Campbell & Charlie Clark were also core members of Scottish indie supergroup The Reindeer Section alongside members of Snow Patrol, The Vaselines, Teenage Fanclub, Arab Strap and Mogwai.

The new material is produced by former Orange Juice frontman and all-round Scottish indie legend Edwyn Collins, who also produced the band’s debut album, 1999’s ‘Strange Weather Lately’.

‘Fall, Stand, Dance’ on Collins’ is slated for release on Collins’ AED Records label next April, with the single commercially available on February 8th.

The album was recorded in Los Angeles, California where Clark now resides and was produced by Eric McCann and mixed by long time Astrid collaborator Tony Doogan.
