Former Geneva singer Andrew Montgomery has re-emerged, with a new album and handful of dates planned for October.
With his former band inactive since 2001, the vocalist has similarly been out of the public eye until now, but returns with an album, ‘Ruled By Dreams’ to be released on 5th October. There’s a London launch show the night after, Monday 6th October 2014 at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, and then a full band Glasgow show at Saturday 18th October at King Tuts. Both are full band gigs, (Ticket links etc. at http://www.ruledbydreams.com/live/ )

Aberdeen four-piece Geneva, with Montgomery on vocals, were originally called Sunfish, and went on to have 4 top 40 hits – ‘Tranquilizer’, ‘No-One Speaks’, ‘Best Regrets’, ‘Into the Blue’ – plus a top 20 album between 1996 and 2000.

This first solo release in well over 10 years is, we’re told, “a mixture of torch songs, yearning modern pop and space-age gospel” and features Suede’s Richard Oakes, Röyksopp collaborator Kate Havnevik, Ben Ellis (Catherine Wheel), and Jody & Simon from Autoheart, and is produced by Sean McGhee (Robyn, Imogen Heap, Alison Moyet.)

As well as a download, a limited CD edition will be available exclusively from andrewmontgomery.bandcamp.com.

The singer will also be appearing on the Radio Scotland Morton Through Midnight show at the end of September, date TBA
