A bit of a punktastic week, but firstly, in one of those Monday night, ‘get your skates on’ notifications, for anyone who doesn’t fancy Death Cab For Cutie, there is Belle and Sebastian‘s Save the Children’s Refugee Crisis Appeal show at the Armadillo. Young Fathers, Mogwai and Jim & Charlie out of Simple Minds are also on the bill.
Killing Joke, punting a new album, are at the O2 ABC on Tuesday, and Deerhunter play SWG3.
Thursday sees Dinosaur Pileup re-emerge, with a show at King Tut’s. while also on Thursday, ABC visit the Royal Concert Hall, where they’ll play Lexicon Of Love with a full orchestra.
More oldies abound, as The Rezillos are at Kilmarnock’s Bellfield Tavern on Friday 6th.
And on Saturday, a hometown show for A New International, at Cumbernauld’s The Circle.
Our chums at IMP in Aberdeen are in cahoots with Songs By Toad on Friday – Toadsplosion at Tunnels 1 has Numbers are Futile, DTHPDL and Adam Stafford.
The following night, Saturday, it’s The Members at Krakatoa. And on Sunday, more veterans making a comeback – The Fratellis at The Garage. Sorry, that should read Tom Robinson, who’s at the Lemon Tree.
In Edinburgh on Monday night, Soak aka Irish singer-songwriter Bridie Monds-Watson, at The Caves.
Bounding forwards to Thursday at the Citrus Club has TV Smith with the Bored Teenagers – Spanish backing band Suzy & Los Quattro – basically recreating the songs of punk legends The Adverts.
On Saturday, Tuff Love play the Voodoo Rooms while up in Fife, it’s The Rezillos again, at Kirkcaldy’s Windsor Hotel.
