A New International release a new single, ‘Necropolitan’.
The track is the first product from their collaboration with Glasgow theatre company Vanishing Point on new theatre show ‘The Dark Carnival’, described as a “tragi-comic pop-opera set in a graveyard, both above and below ground, in life and in a vividly imagined, where A New International star live as the house band in hell”.
The shows’s soundtrack will form the follow-up to debut album ‘Come To The Fabulon’ for the Cumbernauld-born, Glasgow-based outfit, currently consisting of Biff Smith (vox), Caroline Evens (violin), Craig Laurie (drums), Mark McSwiggan (guitar), Steph McGourty (bass) and Jo Shaw (piano).
That 17-track release is slated for release later in the year, but the whole score will be performed at the Citizens Theatre in partnership with Dundee Rep at the premiere at Glasgow’s Tramway on 21st February 2019.
The video for the single is by Matthew Lenton, Artistic Director of Vanishing Point, and filmed by Daryl Cockburn.
The single is currently available as a download.
