The Stranglers – one of the UK’s longest-standing punk/new wave acts – will headline this year’s Wizard festival. The event, now in its 5th year, will take place on August 26 & 27 with the Stranglers performing on the opening Friday night. Wizard Festival is held just outside the ancient village of New Deer, in the heart of the Aberdeenshire countryside.

Also performing, though with no actual band names announced yet, the goNORTH 2011 Festival Tour will include Wizard. This means that eight goNORTH acts will appear on the festival’s second Banshee stage, as well as occupying stages at Belladrum Tartan Heart, Loopallu and The Wickerman, where it will go head-to-head with the Solus Tent.
