Legendary Glasgow shop Missing Records is moving to larger premises, in a move which bucks the general economic trend, but reflects the business’s reputation as a dealer of vinyl.

The move coincides with Missing’s 30th birthday, and aptly, it is moving from its current position under the Hielanman’s Umbrella at Central Station to just round the corner in Oswald Street opposite where it originally based itself in 1989.

Speaking of the move, owner Martin said: “There has been a definite upsurge in vinyl that has resulting in a need for a larger shop. Within the next couple of weeks we will double the vinyl we have.”

“CDs are still strong too , and with our move we will also double the number of CDs,” he added.

The shop will begin trading at the new building on August 21st.
