Belladrum Tartan Heart festival (which runs on 7th & 8th August 2009 have added a dimension to the event – a treasure hunt inspired by the late 70s book Masquerade. A diamond-encrusted ‘mouse’ in the style of – according to the creators of ‘Bequest’ – a keepsake given to Robert Burns by an unnamed Scottish Earl, has been buried somewhere in Scotland. The final clues and version of the painting will be unveiled at the festival 72 hours before they appear on the web site giving festival attendees a head’s start on other treasure hunters. There’s a £10 fee to take part. More at www.burnsbequest.co.uk.
