Soul funk legends Earth Wind and Fire have been added to the bill for the 20th T in the Park, which takes place near Kinross from 12th-14th July.
In other news, T in the Park is planning a cross-Scotland publicity drive (ho ho) which will bring acts playing at Balado from July 12-14th to towns and cities around the country.
In a tour reminiscent of the old T-break heats which took in Scotland’s musical backwaters (only featuring bands you’ve actually heard of*) the T Roadshow will head out around Scotland with bands playing sets at some unusual and far-flung locations.
The View, Josh Record*, Vigo Thieves, The LaFontaines and Sienna, plus a slew of cabaret acts will play shows on a bus in Hamilton (*sorry, you missed it), Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Ayr.
The View play two sets, in Kelvingrove Park and at the top of Buchanan Street on Monday 6th May.
Further shows include Vigo Thieves in Edinburgh on Friday 10th at Queen Margaret University’s Student Union, alongside burlesque artist Aurora Winterborn.
On Saturday 11th May, in Dundee, The LaFontaines are at the Overgate Centre, sharing the bill with Crossfire Cabaret, and on Sunday 12th May, in Aberdeen, Sienna head up from their hometown of Kinross for a set in Furryboots City.
Finally, at Ayr’s train station on Saturday 18th May, Glasgow’s diva trio The Redettes will perform (and I quote, as I have no words) “their acclaimed mash-ups of retro classics and contemporary pop hits”.
