Fears have been expressed that T in the Park will go ahead this year.

A lineup including Kasabian, David Guetta, The Script and Sam Smith has been announced for the three day event, slated to take place in Scotland* from 10th – 12th July.

Concerns have been raised that the event, now in its 21st year, may also expose local residents as well as music fans from around the country to AVICII, Paloma Faith, Gorgon City, George Ezra and The Stereophonics.

Other bands listed in the initial lineup include The Libertines, Noel Gallagher, The Prodigy, Twin Atlantic, Fatboy Slim, Idlewild, Modest Mouse, The Proclaimers, St Vincent, Seasick Steve and The Wombats.

The festival has been dogged by rumours since the announcement of Strathallan Castle* as the the replacement for long-term Balado site, which was abandoned following worries over underground oil pipes.

The most recent doubts have been raised by Gleneagles Hotel, who voiced fears about noise and traffic levels.

However, there was better news for organisers DF Concerts after the Scottish Environment Protection Agency withdrew its opposition to the plans.
