Clyde Chorus, part of Glasgow 850, has announced its festival showcase acts, offering a diverse mix of performances that reflect Glasgow’s rich musical heritage.

Bringing together a range of styles and influences, the festival will feature contributions from well-established city festivals, grassroots collaborations, and a variety of musical traditions.

On Friday 29th May, Glasgow Mela and Glasgow Jazz Festival will host a joint concert at The Savings Bank. Bletherin’, a newly formed trio blending Scottish, Indian classical, and jazz influences, will showcase their unique sound, while spiritual jazz group Mama Terra will perform original compositions alongside material from their latest live album, Chameleons – Live Interpretations of Herbie Hancock.

On the morning of Saturday 31st May, The Pearce Institute will host a showcase featuring Govan Music Festival, Àrd-sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu, and Ando Glaso Roma Fest.

As part of this event, Govan Music Festival, in collaboration with Glasgow Barons, will present a performance by Musicians in Exile and members of the band DLU, blending work music with Scottish folk influences. Pupils from Àrd-sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu will deliver a Gaelic rendition of Hue and Cry’s iconic track ‘Mother Glasgow’, alongside traditional ceilidh music. Meanwhile, Ando Glaso Roma Fest will bring together musicians from diverse Roma backgrounds, celebrating a vibrant but often underrepresented musical tradition.

On the evening of Saturday 31st May, The Supernaturals will headline a special concert at The Pearce Institute, joined by folk-rock outfit Snowgoose. Known for their melodic indie-pop anthems, The Supernaturals return to the stage with a set that promises to be a festival highlight. Snowgoose, formed by Dave McGowan, former BMX Band/Soup Dragon Jim MCCulloch, and singer Anna Sheard, will bring their distinctive mix of folk and psychedelic influences, adding another layer to the night’s rich musical offering.

Elsewhere, The Savings Bank will host a Celtic Connections Night featuring the Finlay MacDonald Trio, Kris Drever, Siobhan Miller, and a special mystery guest. The Finlay MacDonald Trio offers a contemporary take on Scottish piping, while Kris Drever and Siobhan Miller, both leading figures in Scotland’s folk scene, will bring their celebrated musicianship to the event.

Beyond the music, festivalgoers can join a free River Clyde walking tour with Invisible Cities, a social enterprise supporting people who have experienced homelessness. Departing from the SEC at 2pm on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May, these tours will explore Glasgow’s maritime history. For those interested in the city’s musical past, Glasgow Music City Tours will offer guided walks through key venues and landmarks, with two tours available on Saturday 31st May – The Merchant City Music Tour at 11am and The Music Mile Tour at 2pm.
