To celebrate Independent Record Store Day on Saturday 16th of April, Stow College’s Electric Honey record label will be changing its name for the day to “Electric Money” and releasing a limited edition split 7” white vinyl single featuring Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers and White Heath. All proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross Japanese Tsunami fund.

Among the other goings-on, Glasgow’s Love Music will be hosting several live sets, including The Zips (3.30 pm) and Pearl & the Puppets (4.30pm)

Monorail will be open from 9am, and feature live sets from The Membranes, Frightened Rabbit, Palms, and Iain Shaw. DJs will include Gerard Love (Teenage Fanclub) and Paul Thomson (Franz Ferdinand). See www.monocafebar.com for details on the lineup.

In Edinburgh at Avalanche Records in the Grassmarket, there’s a Frightened Rabbit in-store at 1pm. Gordon from Ballboy, The Last Battle and Penguins Kill Polar Bears will also be playing on the day.
