Musicians of all genres are being gathered together on a video channel which aims to showcase Scottish bands and artists from the 1950s to the present day.

‘ScotSound – All Scottish Music Videos’ – includes commercially successful acts as well as unsigned, new and emerging acts, and even buskers. Currently acts such as Saint PHNX and The Twistettes are at the top of the Scottish Indie list alongside the likes of Primal Scream and Biffy Clyro.

The Youtube channel has expanded since its founding last summer to 30 playlists including New Scottish Music, Scottish Synth-pop & New Romantics, Scottish Modern Rock & Indie, Scottish Dance & Trance, Scottish Hip-Hop & Rap, Scottish Acoustic, Scottish Soul, Funk, R&B & Disco, Scottish Jazz, Big Band and Rhythm & Blues, Scottish Reggae & Ska, Scottish Classical, Scottish Chill-out, Scottish Rock & Metal, Scottish Unsigned, Scottish Electronica, Scottish Country & Americana, Scottish Celtic & Folk, Scottish Love Songs & Ballads, Scottish Buskers, Scottish Art-pop, Vintage Scottish Music (50s, 60s & 70s), 80s Scottish Music, 90s Scottish Music, 00s Scottish Music and 2010s Scottish Music with more playlists promised.

The channel’s founder predicts that, with some of the channels having hundreds of items already, that tens of thousands more videos will be posted over the next few months.
As well as the Youtube channel there is a similar Spotify playlist project under way.
