The underrepresentation of rock, metal, punk, prog & blues is the subject of a new podcast produced at Riverside Music College.

The Scottish Rock Seminar Podcast brings together some familiar names in rock radio in Scotland to discuss the lack of these genres at music business conferences and seminars.

Stewart Eadie, an HND Music Business student at Riverside College, also asks why home-grown rock talent does not gain acceptance from the wider Scottish media and music industry and what can be done to change this.

The podcasts feature Rock Sport Radio’s Tom Russell, My Rock Radio Fatman’s Rock-show host Campbell Stewart, Ronnie McGhie of Pulse FM, & Offgrid Sounds Podcast and Robert Fields; previously manager and promoter at the Strawberry Fields venue as well as DJ on CamGlen Radio.

The first podcast session was recorded in Riverside’s Studio 1 by engineer & lecturer Ross Cameron, assisted by Riverside HND Sound Production student Shaun Nicol.
