New music presenter Ally McCrae and radio stalwart Edith Bowman are among nine DJs who are to leave Radio One and Radio One Xtra.
Citing budget cuts, the whole station is the subject of a shake-up, which sees evening and weekend programming significantly changing.
McCrae, who presented the Introducing Scotland breakout show before moving to a midnight networked programme with Jen Long, is one of several respected alternative music names the station is letting go – others include Rob Da Bank and Mike Davies. However, Huw Stevens will now have an extended Monday – Wednesday slot which will concentrate on new music.
Anstruther-born Bowman is also set to leave, though her voice has been heard recently on sister station 6music.
The moves leave Radio One without any Scottish broadcasters, which may be significant given that the station / corporation may see structural changes come any vote for independence in September.
Full details of the new schedules are at the Radio One website.
