The Scottish Album of the Year Award has opened up its 72-hour public vote.

Closing at midnight on August 22, the vote gives members of the public the opportunity to have their say (see what we did there?), by selecting one album – from the 20 already longlisted – to appear in the final 10.

Along with the other 9, decided by this year’s judging panel, it will secure a spot on the Shortlist, which will be announced as part of a special BBC Radio Scotland Quay Sessions show on the evening of Thursday 23rd August.

Also including live performances from The Skids and last year’s SAY Award winner Sacred Paws, presenter Roddy Hart will reveal the 10 albums that have made this year’s Shortlist.

Anyone who enters the public vote will also be entered into a ballot to win tickets to this year’s SAY Award ceremony, taking place on Thursday 6th of September at Paisley Town Hall.
