A campaign has been established to come to the aid of Aberdeen’s only indie record store, One-up Records. It recently became known that the shop, on Belmont Street, was suffering and indeed under threat due to the recession and the decline of physical music sales in general.
A statement on the shop’s Facebook page conformed this saying:

“As you have seen in the local news it’s true that we are struggling to keep the shop open. As you know we have had to pay off some really good staff over the past year or so as sales took a big dive. We are flattered by the save One Up page that has been posted and judging by the positive comments lots of people want to help. Thanks for all your support!”

A Facebook campaign page has been set up and already has almost 4000 likes.
