One hit wonder Sandi Thom has spoken out at her being omitted from the Arts Council showcases of Scottish acts playing at SXSW in Austin. The singer, who had that hit about punk rockers and flowers, is playing at the big cheese industry event this week, but despite there being two showcases for Scottish acts, Sandi has made neither list. “They (the SAC) were really lovely and seemed very keen on the idea of me playing but since then for some bizarre reason they’ve changed their minds,” Thom said.

Appearing at the first showcase are acts like Come On Gang, The Pictish Trail and FOUND. A SAC spokesperson pointed out that he showcases are set up in an attemot to promote smaller acts”. The second live show, featuring Primal Scream, the Proclaimers and Glasvegas, took place on Friday evening
