The Scottish Alternative Music Awards is gearing up for its 2013 vote – although the dates and specific details have yet to be announced, they have unveiled Gorbals Sounds Recording Studio – the new)ish) studio run by former ex-Soup Dragons/Teenage Fanclub drummer Paul Quinn – as their main sponsorship partner.

The awards themselves are split into seven categories with each eventually featuring six nominees, but as the organisers say, “The SAMAs can only represent 42 unique artists each year”. So, the SAMAs have announced #DiscoverNewMusic, where five new Scottish acts will be showcased on the website every week.

Bands can be nominated for a feature on the site by visiting the #DiscoverNewMusic section
