Dundonian percussionist Robbie Cooper has passed away. The drummer was involved in a variety of acts, most notably with post-rockers Laeto, as well as the LuckyMe group American Men, although he also had more temporary and stand-in appearances with a variety of acts in the city such as Magnetic North Pole and Neurola.

Robbie contracted a rare form of cancer and had undergone treatment for it over the past three years. He entered the Marie Curie Hospice in Edinburgh earlier this month and peacefully passed away on the afternoon of April 23rd.

Despite his condition, Robbie remained upbeat, compiling his experiences in his blog. He also tried his hand at stand-up comedy).

A fund raised close to £10,000 which will help his family with funeral expenses, though fund organiser Jon Thompson has expressed the hope that some sort of lasting memorial could be established in his name.

The Human Is Not Alone compilation album, featuring a variety of acts including ones that Robbie worked with, is still available with proceeds going towards Marie Curie Cancer Care.
