RM Hubbert has pledged his troth to Glasgow indie Chemkial Underground. The former El Hombre Trajeado man – now also known for his ‘Will Play For Food’ shows – is to record his album for the legendary label.
The as-yet-untitled sophomore effort will follow First & Last, his debut which was recently his 24-with-a-bullet in the Jockrock year-end poll. The new album will broadly be themed around making new friends and reconnecting with old ones, and aptly, feature the likes of Alasdair Roberts, Aidan Moffat, Emma Pollock, Alex Kapranos, Stuart Braithwaite, Luke Sutherland, Adele Bethel, Esperi, Make Love, and former bandmate Stevie Jones, among others.
Hubby (to those acquainted with him) will also support Mogwai on their European tour in early 2011, following his recent guest slot with Godspeed You! Black Emperor at Glasgow’s Barrowlands
