Primal Scream and The Charlatans are among the bands confirmed for the Electric Fields festival which takes place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August.

Also confirmed for the two-day event, taking place over 4 stages within the fields of Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries & Galloway, are Fat White Family, Field Music, Honeyblood and Eliza & The Bear and Root System.

They join a lineup boasting legends including Sugarhill Gang and Don Letts, top international acts like Songhoy Blues and home-grown talent in Steve Mason, C Duncan and Admiral Fallow.

The organisers have also announces that the second stage will be renamed The Stewart Cruickshank Stage after the Radio Scotland producer who passed away late last year.

Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s club also curates a stage with Erol Alkan and Joy Orbison on their bill over the weekend.

A couple of warm=up shows are planned – on Friday 24th June, WHITE will play a special Electric Fields Warm Up show at Broadcast in Glasgow, while, on Tuesday 5th July Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire presents Dixon Avenue Basement Jams in Association with Hector’s House and Sneaky Pete’s.
