Northern Lights, a music festival scheduled to take place in Aberdeen in four weeks time, has been canceled just four weeks before it was due to take place.
Organisers have announced that the two day event, set to take place in the city’s Seaton Park, has been cancelled due to “poor ticket sales”.
The two-day music marathon, to be staged in the city’s Seaton Park in the last week of July, had attracted artists and acts from all over Europe and the US for the lineup.
Acts like Example, Tynchy Stryder and Kelis were on the bill, but with a ‘mystery guest’ – believed to be Faithless – set to headline the Saturday night, it has been speculated that ticket sales were slow due to people waiting for an announcement. as organisers tried to sort out the logistics of getting the band to play, or securing a replacement.
Refunds are available at the point of purchase, while the brief statement form the organisers can be seen at www.northernlightsfestival.co.u
However, a petition has been launched to save the festival…
