Dinosaur Jr, Sebadoh, Franz Ferdinand, Mercury Rev, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Lovely Eggs, and The Lemonheads are among the acts who will be getting involved over the coming months.
The Sauchiehall Street venue, established in 1991, had planned to mark three decades as one of Scotland’s most significant stages for live music wityh a programme of events next summer.
However, given the lockdown landscape, the bar’s owners have decided to begin the party a year early with streams by streams artists who have been played at or been involved with Sleazy’s – webcasting, “from as they say, as far away as Los Angeles and as local as Charing Cross.”
Kicking off from May 7th, other acts getting involved include The Dandy Warhols, Noiseaddict, Sparklehorse, Lady Alba, The Warlocks and Creation Records.
Each session will be accompanied by a donation link for a different charity – local food banks, NHS workers and youth groups.
A venue spokesperson said: “Our aim is to spread love and joy in this time of lockdown and to hopefully help create a new landscape for creative expression through this curation.
“We hope to both raise money for a good cause and encourage all good people everywhere to come together and enjoy this music.”
THey added: “We also invite artists with a bond to Nice n Sleazy to contact us at [email protected]. Let’s swap ideas, memories and spread happiness. We would love for you to be involved !”
