Leith is to get a new music venue.

The Depot is to open in the former Meridian bar on Leith Walk – once branded ‘Edinburgh’s worst pub’ due to problems with criminal activity.

The new venture has been set up by musicians Peter Mason, Julie Carty and Patrick Kavanagh – the latter currently in charge of the Leith School of Music, which is based next door.
