Following yesterday’s news item and a widespread campaign to have a White Power gig by US Nazi act Bound for Glory banned, the show – mooted to be taking place in Falkirk this weekend – has seemingly been canceled.
According to Hope Not Hate, who were behind the campaign to have the show stopped, the organiser of the concert cancelled because she was concerned about “adverse media attention and the likelihood that the US band members would be refused entry into this country”.
Over 15,000 people signed the petition calling for the show to be banned.
A statement from Hope Not Hate read: “I can officially announce that the Nazi gig in Falkirk has officially been cancelled by the organisers.
“Citing adverse media attention and the likelihood that the US band members would be refused entry into this country and the venue would cancel the gig, the organisers have stepped in to call off the gig.
“While obviously we will remain vigilant to ensure that organiser Vicky Pearson is true to her word, we can celebrate a huge victory for people power.”
