Glasgow Film Festival has announced its lineup for 2013 including appearances by some musical legends. The event, which takes place from 14th – 24th February, is divided into several sub-festivals, including a couple which are musically-themed.

There’s also a showing of Whatever Gets You Through the Night, a document of the project created by director Cora Bisset, playwright David Greig and musicians Swimmer One, who will perform afterwards, as will Rachel Sermanni. That’s on February 15th, and late on the same evening, at the Flying Duck, Popcorn II sees 14 bands performing covers of film themes.

The Arches has an event on Saturday 16th with Fritz Lang’s Woman in the Moon will be accompanied by Jeff Mills, playing a brand new original score live as a UK premiere. Meanwhile, Godfather of Krautrock, Kluster’s Dieter Mobius, will present his live score to Metropolis.

There’s also the Short Film Festival, which is opened by Dead Man’s Waltz on February 7th – a promo video of the band is one of 24 which are part of the Last Words Short Film competition, which also features A Band Called Quinn in the lineup.
