Edinburgh music social and seminar collective, Born To Be Wide, has announced a controversial collaboration with Hearts FC. Ok, maybe not so controversial, because Making It: Getting Ahead In Music, which is aimed at advising under-25s on getting gigs, management and exposure and runs through the Youth Music Initiative run by Creative Scotland (hmm, that might be the controversial bit).
The event which takes place at Tynecastle Stadium on October 19th , in conjunction with Big Hearts Community Trust, an independent charity.
On the panel are singer-songwriter Carrie Mac, Lloyd Meredith (aka blogger Peenko, and Olive Grove Records founder), Michael Lambert (manager of Stanley Odd and Homework), The SAMAs’ Richy Muirhead, and Tallah Brash from the Electric Circus.
The event is open to under 25s and is completely free (meaning that there’s no chance at all of proceeds being funneled off into some Lithuanian bank account)
