Mogwai, Django Django, Camera Obscura and Buzzcocks are among the bands accompanying Belle and Sebastian on their waterbound mini-festival, The Boaty Weekender.

The cruise with a difference takes place from August 8th – 12th 2019, sailing from Barcelona to Cagliari in Sardinia (and back).

As previously reported, the band will be performing their 2000 album ‘Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant’ in its entirety for the first time ever during the cruise, and will press a special vinyl reissue of the seminal release, for attendees only, to coincide with the trip.

The vinyl will be available to anyone who books during the pre-sale, for which no-obligation registration is now open.

Also planned for the 2500 revellers on the Norwegian Pearl will be themed parties, panels, Q&A sessions, and of course, a variety of day and night-time live performances.

Cruising doesn’t usually come cheap, but prices start at £559 per person sharing, going all the way up to over £5K if you’re the solitary type that still fancies your own penthouse suite. That’ll include all means, non-carbonated beverages, and of course admittance to all gigs.

Bear in mind that there’ll be various taxes on top of the total, and you also have to get to Barcelona and back (though obviously there’s a wealth of budget airlines flying to the Spanish city). Oh, and the August date is post-Brexit, so all details are correct up until March 29th. But monthly payment plans will be available and there are family-oriented packages as well.

The lineup so far reads:

BELLE AND SEBASTIAN
MOGWAI
CAMERA OBSCURA
DJANGO DJANGO
ALVVAYS
BUZZCOCKS
JAPANESE BREAKFAST
HONEYBLOOD
HINDS
KELLY LEE OWENS
