Following the destruction of the Sony/PIAS distribution centre in Enfield during the riots in London this week, the indie community across the UK has rallied behind those affected, which apart from Sony and Play It Again Sam themselves includes a raft of household names (well, in this household at least). Chemikal Underground, Soma and Rock Action are perhaps the most familiar labels from this neck of the woods, but aside from the bigger names like Rough Trade, Domino and Sub Pop, a few others with Scottish acts on their roster such as Full Time Hobby and Fat Cat have also lost much of their stock.

It is hoped that with insurance in place and an extension to the deadline for affected parties to apply for compensation, that no labels will go under, but with insurance payouts notoriously slow to be processed, an appeal has been set up. A fundraiser in London is set to go ahead and plans are in place for more events across the country.
