Biffy Clyro, Mogwai, Frightened Rabbit and Idlewild are among the acts which have inspired an exhibition at Edinburgh’s Union Gallery, which opens on November 4th. Synaesthesia II explores the sensory relationship between music and colour, and artist Trevor Jones says listening to Scottish bands while painting for the exhibition directly influenced the art on display. Visitors will be able to pick up mp3 players loaded with the music as they browse the exhibition.
Another band who inspired him were We Were Promised Jetpacks, who have signed a guitar donated by Gibson and the Hard Rock Cafe, which is to be raffled to raise funds for the Art In Healthcare charity, which Jones works for.

The official launch of the Gibson guitar to be raffled for charity took place last night at the Hard Rock Cafe and went over really well. We raised almost twice as much as we had hoped for, which is brilliant! The guitar is to be raffled 31 December so still lots of time to pick up raffle tickets!
With regards to the exhibition opening today at the UNIONgallery on Broughton Street, an excellent article by Roger Cox from the Scotsman just came out. Here’s a link to it.
