Popular music venue Leith Depot has issued a final appeal for support in its campaign to prevent the block which houses it from being demolished.

The Drum Property Group want to replace the existing buildings with what they call a “mixed-use development”, with student housing a likely use.

12,000 people signed a petition asking for the reversal of the decision to tear down the Depot and its neighbours, but Edinburgh Council have refused the petition.

The Depot have asked that as many people as possible visit the Council’s planning permission page to register their objection, in what they describe as one last push.

Music lovers the country over have just five more days to do their bit to save one of the city’s most endearing music venues.
