A genre-spanning host of legendary acts including Kraftwerk 3-D, Chic and Underworld will perform in Glasgow’s Rouken Glen Park from July 31st – August 2nd 2021.

The second Playground has also confirmed Jon Hopkins, Gary Numan, Optimo, Harri & Domenic, Kelis, The Wailers, plus DJ sets from Leftfield and Hot Chip , the latter having appeared at the first incarnation the festival in 2019, alongside Groove Armada and Lauryn Hill.

Effectively the rescheduled version of the planned 2020 Playground, next year’s festival also boasts local talent in the shape of Colonel Mustard, Pictish Trail, Stephanie Cheape, Auntie Flo, plus Neneh Cherry, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Body and Soul, Horse Meat Disco and Craig Charles are also on the bill, which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

And also performing over the three days are Harri & Domenic, Luna The Professor, DJ Format, Shaka Loves You, Stevie Elements, Kev Stevens, CC:MC, Egyptian Lover, Optimo, Nightwave, Beta Waves, Let’s Go Back, Scarlett Randal, Craig Moog, IDA, Lezzer Quest, WSHOM, Rebecca Vasmant, S/A/M, and Andrew Divine.

Gary Numan said: “I’m excited to be headed to Glasgow for Playground 21 in a beautiful park with a bunch of global music legends including Kraftwerk…see you there.”

And Johnny Lynch aka Pictish Trail said: “Very much looking forward to returning to Playground Festival in 2021, and beyond excited to be sharing a stage with Kraftwerk – who are true icons of electronic music.
