Del Amitri’s Justin Currie, folk-crossover champs Lau plus hotly-tipped indie acts Be Charlotte and The Van T’s are among the headliners at the Northern Roots festival, which takes place at Bogbain Farm near Inverness on 23/24th June.

Justin Currie and the Pallbearers are perhaps the biggest name announced, with a new album ‘This Is My Kingdom Now’ just out, though they are joined on the bill by folk legend Rab Noakes.

Also, just signed to LAB Records, Glasgow quartet The Van T’s will be heading north to headline the ‘Uisgebarn’ stage.

Also on the bill are Be Charlotte, The Elephant Sessions, Ayakara, Schnarff Schnarff, SKJØR, Have Mercy Las Vegas, The Little Kicks, and Declan Welsh & the Decadent West.

Showcasing music from all across Scotland and beyond, family-friendly Northern Roots overlooks the Moray Firth with a line-up of over more than 40 acts.

Northern Roots festival was started by musician and radio presenter Bruce MacGregor in 2009 to highlight upcoming folk and roots artists but has developed to showcase the best talents in Scottish music.
