James Yorkston is to take his Tae Sup Wi’ a Fifer shows on a tour of Scotland this September.
The Domino Records recording artist will traverse Scotland in five shows, taking in Inverness, Shetland, Peebles, St. Andrews and Crieff.
Accompanying him on this musical road trip will be Kris Drever, Rozi Plain, and Iona Lee.
The “club nights” have been in the past based at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy, but now take in intimate venues around Scotland. Yorkston hosts, performs his own set, and introduces his guests who, as per previous events, offer varied and complementary talents from different strands of entertainment, and occasion teaming up onstage.

Yorkston has previously released a host of critically acclaimed albums over the last 20 years both as a solo artist and as part of the collaborative project Yorkston Thorne Khan. His latest record, The Great White Sea Eagle – a collaboration with The Cardigans’ Nina Persson and The Second Hand Orchestra – was released in 2023, while he has also has published three books; his latest novel, The Book of the Gaels, came out in 2022.

Orcadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Kris Drever is part of folk trio Lau as well as operating in solo mode, and is the recipient of a considerable number of BBC Radio 2 Folk awards, as well as having worked with the likes of Jack Bruce, Eddi Reader, Mark Knopfler, Jerry Douglas and Roddy Woomble.

Born in Winchester, musically raised in Bristol’s DIY scene, Rozi Plain’s connection to Fife goes back to performing at the Fence Collective’s Homegame festival as well as at Dunfermline’s Carnegie Hall as part of Tigerfest. Having released albums on both Fence and Lost Map, she is also a member of This Is The Kit, and can count aong her collaborators and admirers Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, Deerhoof’s Chris Cohen, and Alabaster dePlume. Her latest album ‘Prize’ was released in 2023 on Memphis Industries.

Iona Lee is a poet, artist, music-maker, storyteller and spoken-word performer from Edinburgh. She has been a prominent member of Scotland’s live poetry scene for 10 years, appearing on radio and television and reading her work in venues and on festival stages all over the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. In 2022, she won the John Byrne award for her poetry film, Away with the Fairies, and she appeared on Young Woman Scotland’s 30 Under 30 list. Her debut poetry collection, Anamnesis, was shortlisted for the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award.
