Idlewild have created their own craft beer – ‘Scottish Fiction IPA’ – to celebrate the release of their new album ‘Everything Ever Written’.

Limited to 1250 bottles – each with a download code for an acoustic version of ‘A Film For The Future’ – it’s brewed in association with Barney’s Beer in Edinburgh. The label bears the legend “‘Hops is important”, and indeed, singer Roddy Woomble said of the collaboration: “Idlewild are a band of committed and enthusiastic craft beer and ale drinkers and Barneys beer has been a favourite for quite a while.”

The IPA – a blend of Scottish malt & American hops will be launched on Friday 6th February in Summerhall in Edinburgh, where the small matter of an album playback will also take place, followed by a DJ set by the band.

The album is out on February 16th in the UK on digital, CD and vinyl. A limited deluxe edition with exclusive live acoustic tracks is available to pre-order now from www.pledgemusic.com/idlewild.
The band then play two Scottish shows, at Glasgow’s O2 ABC on
7th and 8th March.
