What looks like a pretty tenuous publicity stunt is set to bring live music to the Highland village of Altnaharra. The free, Jägermeister-sponsored show featuring London quartet Brigade plus support in Paisley-based singer-songwriter Ryan Bisland, takes place on April 16th at the Altnaharra Hotel. The venue is 168 miles away from the central belt, in a village of 50 people.
The show celebrates the shot brand’s new ‘Ice Cold’ gig series via a gig in what is the “coldest place in the UK” – Altnaharra dipped to minus 21.3 degrees centigrade last winter. Though at the time of typing it’s 16 degrees there, making the show perhaps less of an ordeal even for those softie southerners.
