Idlewild’s Roddy Woomble and former Delgado Emma Pollock are to headline Edinburgh’s first ever ‘Summer Solstice’ festival.

The free community event, based around the city’s West End, takes place on 22-23rd June, and also has appearances from comic Fred MacAulay and Jen Brister (BBC 6 Music) plus various acoustic sets and buskers.

The weekend, perhaps optimistically, bills itself as welcoming in the start of summer, and also includes an arts and crafts market, face painting, buskers, children’s dance workshops, and a variety of other goings-on detailed here.
