Greenock-born promoter Andrew McDermid has teamed up with a Glasgow designer, Charlie Boyle, to bring to ‘life’ a creation which could be the ideal Christmas present for music fans of a certain age.

The two have designed and now manufactured a set of Garden gnomes in the image of Ian Brown, Mani and the other two out of baggy Manchester legends The Stone Roses.

“The Stone Roses were always a band whose fans held dear for a long time,” said Andrew. “Our gnomes were just another way of expressing our appreciation of them,” he said of the project, which the pairstarted before the band reunited in 2012.

Next band to be captured in a stony tribute will be New York’s original miniature punks, the Ra-nomes.
