The Libertines, Culture Club, Orbital, and Glasvegas are among the acts added to the revised lineup for the Playground Festival, set to take place at the end of September.

Taking place in Glasgow’s southside Rouken Glen Park, the new dates now read 24th – 26th September 2021, but with some amendments since the original announcement in December 2020.

Also added to the bill are Razorlight, Macy Gray, Kathy Sledge, Franc Moody, The Shambolics, The Reflex, with more to be announced across the weekend including a very special guest for Saturday.

And still on the original bill are Friday night special guests James, and Sunday night headliner, CHIC, with Nile Rodgers, who said: “It’s always Good Times for us with the incredible people of Glasgow. As you can imagine after almost 18 months of being at home we are going to make this special for all of us.”

Unfortunately rescheduling from the original July 31st date means Gary Numan, Jon Hopkins, Kelis, Kraftwerk, Neneh Cherry, Pictish Trail, Underworld and The Wailers will not be able to take part.

Playground Festival’s Ashleigh Elliott said: “Many of you supported us by rolling over your tickets from 2020, for which we are truly grateful. We know this is a big change from our original line-up, but we’re sure everyone will be ready to party with us in September and hope that the Playground family are as excited by our 2021 line-up as we are.

“We are of course working within all current guidelines to deliver a safe festival full of sensational tunes performed by amazing artists for you all to enjoy – and we can’t wait to see you in our park over September Weekend”.
