Glasgow Film Theatre (that’s the GFT to you) has a music-themed series planned for late summer.

The Songs of Nick Drake on Tuesday 10 July (20.00) where singer/guitarist Keith James will perform, following the screening of a documentary about Drake’s life and music.

Saturday 21 July (19.30) features The Genius of Hitchcock: The Lodger with a restored version of the film soundtracked by a live score performed via cinecast by Nitin Sawhney and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Sawhney will also take part in a cinecast Q&A following the screening.

The documentary Searching for Sugarman, from Friday 17 – Thursday 23 August, has as its subject 70s folk rock musician Rodriguez, and a search by fans for the disappeared rocker, whose obscure US career contrasted with the status of revolutionary hero in South Africa.

Finally, Monorail Film Club present Practical Electronica on Sunday 26 August (19.45) – an experimental film and Q&A from multi-media artist Ian Helliwell.
