Stirling band Miniature Dinosaurs play an unusual double-header show next Saturday (May 28th). They have an evening show at Stirling Albion’s home ground, the curiously-named Doubletree Dunblane Stadium, with support from Bwani Junction and The Lafontaines. However, beforehand, the three bands will take part in a 5-a-side invitational football tournament on the hallowed turf, with their audience on the terracing.

We Were Promised Jetpacks (winners of a recent 5s tourney organised by DF Concerts) and Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers are among the other bands playing in the competition, while they will have a chance to get a sly hack at industry representatives which include a Radio Select team skippered by Ally McCrae (Radio 1, Detour, and St Mirren’s match-day announcer) and a Press Select team being captained by Stuart McHugh (Is This Music?).

Dundee fan Jim Gellatly (Clyde 1/Amazing Radio/Radio Magnetic) will take the chance to see some proper football as be steps in to be the match day announcer, and has already made the draw for the group stages (see below).

Kick off is at 3pm. Entrance to watch the football is free, with the evening’s gig £5. Tickets and info at www.miniaturedinosaurs.co.uk
