The Scottish Alternative Music Awards have announced their nominees for this year’s vote and finals event, which will take place at Glasgow’s Garage on Friday 8th March/

The awards launch with an event on Thursday 7th February at Bar Bloc Glasgow, featuring performances by previous nominees and winner Alan McKim, The Little Kicks and TeKlo.

There are a total of (only) seven categories and the likes of Fat Goth and Cleavers are in the running in the Rock section, while S-Type, Solareye and Young Fathers are on the six-act Hip hop shortlist
United Fruit and Meursault are in the running for Live Act, while Newcomer nominees include Honeyblood.
There’s an Electronic category with the big hitters Discopolis and Chvrches, while Little Fire, Michael Cassidy, Cara Mitchell and William Douglas & The Wheel are up for the Acoustic award.
And filed under M for Metal, What The Blood Revealed and Lords Of Bastard are among the possible picks.
